Introduction

This Web site is designed to look at Young people's citizenship in
relation to Connexions.

The following pages will contain information on Connexions, its strategy and implications for young people. It also includes information about citizenship and how it inter-links with the Connexions strategy and aids the development of young peoples transitions into adulthood and gaining full citizenship.  The site will then provide  recommendations  for  future  youth support policy with views on how this should be developed with specific relation to work   undertaken with young people.

"It is essential that we do more to help young people  develop a form of understanding of their roles and
responsibilities as citizens in a modern democracy and to equip them better to deal with the difficult moral and social questions that arise in their lives and in society"

(Secretary of State for Education and Employment, the Rt.Hon David Blunkett.MP)

This page has been designed and constructed by three BA (Hons) Community and Youth Studies students at St. Martin's College in Lancastrer: Lisa Harvey, Jenni Addison and Chris Tregilgas as a project on the issues relating to connexions and citizenship.
